You’ll find a beautiful selection of handmade pottery and ceramics at this charming Palm Desert studio, all handcrafted on-site by the incredibly talented Pouneh Shahrestani. An architect, interior designer, and ceramic artist, Pouneh creates everything from matcha bowls and mugs to earrings, serving pieces, and home décor, each with her distinctive artistic touch.

It’s one of my favorite spots to shop for gifts during the holidays, thanks in no small part to Pouneh’s fabulous ornaments and whimsical ceramic Christmas village sets—though I inevitably wind up wanting to keep whatever I buy for myself.

Even better, you can try your own hand at the pottery wheel by signing up for one of Pouneh’s classes. Open to kids and adults of all skill levels, the workshops include everything you need to create your own one-of-a-kind piece—and perhaps pick up a new skill in the process.
